It applies in all sectors and to organizations of any size or maturity implementing an OH&S management system, although it pays particular attention to the needs of small businesses. Why should you use this standard? This guidance document has been developed to provide additional, more in-depth and accessible information than that provided in BS 45002-0. Its use can help organizations meet the relevant requirements of BS ISO 45001. It provides plain language guidance for organizations implementing the OH&S management system standard, helping ensure that they understand the level of risk assessment required when applying ISO 45001. It mirrors the structure of the ISO standard to help users identify how they can manage their own risks and opportunities in line with the ISO 45001 requirements. It adds additional examples to give people a better idea of what might be a risk or opportunity. Organizations not yet ready to implement ISO 45001 but working towards it will also benefit from using this guidance.
