ASTM E1456

Abstract

This specification covers two grades of solid caustic potash as follows: Type I, 85 % potassium hydroxide; and Type II, 90 % potassium hydroxide. Sampled specimens shall be tested and conform accordingly to chemical requirements as to total alkalinity of KOH, and specified maximum compositions for K 2 CO 3 , KCl, and Fe.

1. Scope

1.1 This specification covers two grades of solid caustic potash, 85 % and 90 %.

1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
