NFPA 1142: Standard on Water Supplies for Suburban and Rural Fire Fighting
    Edition: 2012
    $34.12
    / user per year

Content Description

Sufficient, reliable water supplies are essential for fire protection. Safeguard lives and property by following the latest requirements in 2012 NFPA 1142.

NFPA 1142: Standard on Water Supplies for Suburban and Rural Fire Fighting identifies minimum standards to assist rural and suburban fire departments in developing sufficient water supplies where no in-ground hydrant system (or an inadequate one) exists. It provides methods for determining water supply requirements based on occupancy and construction classifications. This Standard also provides information regarding apparatus construction for water tankers.

Improve community and fire fighter safety by staying on top of important changes in the 2012 edition such as:

New material with guidance on bridge access to water sources
Clarification of the working space surrounding dry hydrants
Additional Annex material on the function, operation, and use of water eductors and ejectors, which can provide a unique and important means for acquiring water from sources that are difficult to utilize with other methods.

Whether you're an AHJ, planner, developer, or code official, this Standard is a must-have on-the-job resource.
