Content DescriptionAs the skill level is elevated, players and spectators require a better and more sophisticated luminous environment. a correlation exists between the size of a facility and the level of play. Accordingly, facilities should be designed to satisfy the most talented players and accommodate the greatest potential spectator capacity. The purpose of this recommended practice is to provide design criteria for new lighting systems and for the evaluation of existing installations. Included are illuninance recommentdations for aerial sports or groundlevel sports, for major sports such as baseball, tennis, basketball, and football as well as for recreational and social activities such as horseshoe pitching and croquet. Recommendations are also given for lighting general purpose facilities and multi-sport stadiums.
